7:40am.
Sitting in Haneda airport, sipping on an iced ginger latte accompanied by a sickley sweet oreo muffin (I know! Not the healthiest breakfast but this adventure is about new experiences so I can’t see why I can’t explore this concept through breakfast dammit!) it’s difficult to process exactly what Tokyo means to me…
I’m no longer impressed by the cosmetics of a city, as I want to move beyond the glaring bright lights and feel it’s soul. On the surface Tokyo is a very amplified city and somehow manages to both reinforce and dismantle every stereotype I had of its inhabitants…
But what amazing inhabitants they are! Perfect strangers who humbly offered me free guidance everytime I pulled out my Metro map trying to grasp my sense of orientation…
I’ll be able to write more once I have had a little more time to digest the experience, but thank you Japan for offering me such insight into the human experience…
Until next time…
Hope you enjoy these photos. 😊
As you may guess, I prefer the nature photos… and lovely to see an artist at work. The mirrored… er… thingies above the escalator would probably do my eyes in, but they are very interesting.

The mirrored escalator was absolutely mind bending! 😂 I couldn’t even look at it for too long, but as technological as the city was it had some lovely natural open spaces.
